This introductory course is the first course (LVA) for prospective students of the Faculty of Mechanical and Industrial Engineering. This LVA also represents the welcome address at the TU Wien and provides an overview of its organization and structure.
In workshops (towards the end of the semester), students can get an idea of various research activities and facilities and, occasionally, actively help themselves with simple problems.
On the 4th of March, 1:00 pm (Praktikum Hörsaal) all first semester students of the Faculty of Mechanical and Industrial Engineering will be welcomed.
Here, the students will learn all the information needed to register for courses and will be informed about further lessons of this introductory course.
After the welcome address, the Fachschaft Maschinenbau holds the first semester tutorial.
Every Thursday from 12:00 – 13:30 (Radinger Härsaal) there will be lessons on study law, university structure, technology and society as well as the presentation of individual institutes and research divisions of the faculty.
After the lecture series, the students will choose a workshop in which they will learn more about a research area.
Attendance is compulsory to complete the course.
This course starts with March 4th in the lecture hall Praktikum Hörsaal (GM 5).
From 1:00 pm till 3:00 pm the students of the study program Mechanical Engineering and Industrial Engineering will be welcomed and informed about the organization of the faculty as well as the structure of the study program.
