Learning outcomes

After successful completion of the course, students are able to

  • critically reflect on the change of educational and research infrastructures and to identify the tasks of architecture and spatial planning in this context,
  • understand the socio-political and everyday relevance of knowledge cultures and learning processes in the context of Education for Sustainable Development and Open Science,
  • recognise the opening of knowledge forms and knowledge practices as a democratic political challenge and opportunity, and
  • understand independent inter- and transdisciplinary approaches to architecture and spatial planning in the knowledge triangle of education, research and innovation.

Subject of course

Teaching the basics of educational landscapes and related perspectives of science and technology studies in architecture and spatial planning: international discourse, socio-political and conceptual contexts, inter- and transdisciplinary, science-theoretical approaches in architecture und spatial planning in the knowledge triangle of education, research and innovation with a focus on open science, social learning and social innovations.

The module " Bildungslandschaften" is an interdisciplinary course offered by the faculty-wide research team "Arbeitsraum Bildung". It is aimed equally at architecture and spatial planning students as well as those interested in other fields of study (spatial planning students can complete the module " Bildungslandschaften" as one of two compulsory elective modules in their Master's programme - we are pleased to answer any questions in this regard).
