After successful completion of the course, students are able to....

Through real experiments, interactions with citizens and regional actors as well as joint exchange, we are approaching our goal: to transform rural spaces together, and to do so locally, at the landuni in Drosendorf in the north-eastern Waldviertel. Under the motto "Transforming edges/margins", 3 country excusions/interventions will take place. During the "Landpartie" we will explore the region, get in touch with actors, plan our inventions and learn how to implement, document and communicate ideas on site in a practice-oriented way.

The three "Landparties"
The landuni is the "home base" (especially the landuni's premises in Drosendorf castle) from which we deal with doing something for the country. Together we want to think through and implement three ideas for and in the countryside and thus actively help to shape the countryside in cooperation with the Viertelfestival Waldviertel:

1. Filling in the Boarders (26.05.2023): We want to fill in the physical and mental borders. A cooperation with students and teachers of the Brno University of Technology and the Janácek Academy of Performing Arts Brno is being planned.
2. Floor Festival (16.06.2023): Based on the "Randererscheinung" of a university in the countryside, we will play on the different levels around the city wall of Drosendorfwith a jointly curated one-day festival.  
3. On the edge of infrastructure (07.07.2022):We will look at the partially empty area around the Drosendorf train station and how we can (temporarily) revive it. There is a cooperation with the Drosendorf film club for this.

Each group will take on a "Landpartie" as a lead, where the group should be present the whole week before the event for the preparation of the events. The others will support the set-up, the realisation and the follow-up (this corresponds to approx. 3 days per Landpartie).

IMPORTANT: At the first session on 14.3. we will decide together on the next dates! In this way, we try to take into account your availability, as the summer semester seems to be very busy with dates.

The seminar is open to 12 students of the Faculty of Architecture and Spatial Planning. This means that students of spatial planning AND architecture from Bachelor AND Master are welcome!

What is the landuni?
With the landuni we want to actively shape the future of rural areas and create a new image of the countryside. We showcase innovation and strengthen it through a creative environment. Together with students, teachers, interested citizens, associations, guests, practitioners and politicians, we want to research questions of the future, new trends and technologies and develop future perspectives.
The landuni is an open and creative place where the most diverse actors and people from various educational institutions meet, work on interdisciplinary topics and enrich each other. Topics that concern the region flow into teaching and impulses are set in the region with projects.
With Drosendorf Castle, in the northern Waldviertel, the landuni has found its first physical location.

1. Conceptualisation, implementation and documentation of the chosen Landpartie in a team.
2. The learnings and the way to them should be documented and processed digitally via short videos and social media, and a short written contribution should be created for each group, which will then be published in our landuni.post.
3. Cooperation, interest and analogue/digital presence at the meetings in the large team.
