After successful completion of the course, students are able to collect qualitative and quantitative data of mobility research on the basis of a formulated scientific interest in knowledge using different survey designs

- to collect data with different survey designs,

- to evaluate the plausibility of the data using statistical methods,

- interpret and

- present the data using visualization techniques.

Topics of the course are

- Survey designs with their advantages and disadvantages from practice (Austria on the road, mobility surveys in municipalities and cities)

- survey contents of mobility research

- specific methods like smartphone-based mobility surveys

- data storytelling

- on site activation of survey participants

- writing of a research article

- discussion of case studies

- own realization of surveys

- evaluation, presentation and interpretation of mobility data
