Learning outcomes

After successful completion of the course, students are able to...

... discuss current challenges, developments and future-oriented (technology) concepts in urban commercial traffic

... develop a question for your bachelor's thesis independently from the subject area of "urban commercial transport".

... independently develop and implement an investigation design (problem, research questions, methods, results, discussion) based on the question

... write a scientific thesis independently according to the guidelines of good scientific practice

Subject of course

Cities face the challenge of reducing transport emissions. In addition to individual mobility, urban freight transport also accounts for an important share of emissions (in addition to other effects such as space consumption, etc.). At the same time, cities must be supplied with goods. In this area of tension, solutions and inputs are developed/researched in the seminar, which are intended to contribute to knowledge about “greener” logistics in cities.

Teaching methods

Input lectures and discussion of the content in the plenary session, linking to practice, independent written writing of the bachelor's thesis according to the guidelines of good scientific practice, reflection on one's own work process, oral presentation of intermediate steps and the final result
