After successful completion of the course, students are able to...
... apply the knowledge acquired in their previous studies to the creation of a model for the Burgenland region and the Burgenland / Hungary border region. The students work independently within a self-defined framework on the topics that they discover in the region through research, analysis, excursions to the region and expert input, with a spatial focus being desired.
Students should be able to formulate independent problem analyses and corresponding solution approaches. The Master's project is intended to promote a critical and reflective approach to current issues of spatial development in Burgenland. Based on concrete spatial, legal and structural framework conditions and complex interests in the planning region, the guiding principles are developed in a creative process.
The aim of the master's project is to develop and spatialize sustainable and fresh ideas for a model for Burgenland and the border region with Hungary. Based on a problem- and planning-oriented inventory and analysis, integrated spatial models will be developed. These are devised in conceptual spatial and application-oriented work from the place / space. Goals and qualities are developed in discourse and development possibilities are evaluated from different spatial and stakeholder-specific perspectives. The basis is a responsible, problem-conscious and creative examination of place / space and task. The master project is carried out in close cooperation with the province of Burgenland and is financially supported.
