After successful completion of the course, students are able to...
calculate land yields of food and renewable energy production and compare them to socio-spatial resource requirements,
estimate the regional availability of (renewable) raw materials for thermal renovation and building optimization measures,
assess the influence of spatial planning decisions as well as the relevance of land use competition in resource planning.
Provision of a comprehensive understanding of the influence of spatial planning interventions on food production and renewable energy generation, as well as on the provision of raw materials for the thermal optimization of buildings in existing settlements. On the basis of selected spatially relevant topics in the context of resource availability, which are to be worked out together with the students, appropriate methods of inventory and analysis, as well as concepts of planning implementation are tested in theory and practice.
Methods of spatial potential analysis of renewable resources
Research on locations of production and consumption of goods (within a thematic area) in a delimited (regional) reference space
GIS, cartography, story mapping
Analysis report and documentation
Communication of the concept results to different actors and stakeholders
The course is eligible for credit as a supplementary course in elective modules 3 and 4.
The course has an immanent examination character - attendance is compulsory.
