Teaching methods

The seminar is closely linked to the Writing Retreat for PhD students of the Institute of Spatial Planning. The course teaches well-tested techniques in designing effective academic writing processes. During the Writing Retreat, participants get the chance to apply these techniques right away. Moreover, basics of the academic publishing process will be discussed. During the retreat, participants will also receive individual support in coping with challenges in their respective writing projects.

The writing retreat for PhD students will take place at landuni Drosendorf, from January 30 to February 01, 2023.

For participation in the retreat, pre-registration via e-mail to johannes.suitner@tuwien.ac.at until October 24, 2022 at the latest is obligatory.

  • Ongoing reporting on the progress of the writing project during the Writing Retreat.
  • Submission of the texts written during this period.
  • Submission of a 2-3 page reflection report (DE/EN).
