  • Introduction to a postcolonial perspective
  • The history and development of the urban Indian electricity sector
  • Current trends in the urban Indian energy sector related to economical, ecological and social issues

  • Interactive discussion of literature, theoretical concepts, empirical studies, findings, critique
  • Inverted classroom: Students prepare and present content from scientific papers and studies to the group

This course introduces the discourse on globalization with a focus on the Indian electricity sector. During the lecture and practice in this course, we are examining, what globalization means for the Indian context and how it is impacting the urban Indian electricity infrastructure and thus society. Discussing these questions, we are working with different concepts and empirical studies to disentangle the economical, ecological and social dimensions of this sectoral transition.
