As part of the course, students should participate in the international conference REAL CORP 2024, which will take place in Mannheim from April 14 to 17, 2024 (John Deere Forum and MAFINEX). Explanation of "Paper Analysis"

Analysis of 5 self-selected, online available specialist articles on the subject of spatial planning / urban development (incl. "related disciplines"), preferably from the program of the REAL CORP 2022 conference, all of which are available online via www.corp.at; contributions from other conferences are also possible. If you are unable to attend REAL CORP 2024, the number of papers to be analyzed will increase to 5.

  • 2-3 pages per article analysis of what is particularly interesting, what is incomprehensible, and why an article is particularly good or not particularly good; whether the topic is relevant, whether the article is understandable, clearly structured, helpful for further activities
  • overview of the selected articles: How would you cite the respective articles if you wrote a scientific contribution yourself? Indication of author (s), title of the article, published where / when / in (publisher; ISBN-No .; possibly additional information (Open…)), link to the online version
  • reason why these articles were chosen: technically interesting; Points of contact with one's own main areas of interest or topics that are currently being worked on; Title sounds exciting; Author (s) known (personally or as recognized experts); spatial reference; "Familiar / exotic" (constructive criticism is very welcome, but it is not about "ripping the article to pieces")
