Learning outcomes

After successful completion of the course, students are able to develop a spatial analysis based on impressions collected on site. They are able to develop a concept basis for the design of the main square in the municipality of Göllersdorf (Lower Austria).

Subject of course

The course serves the analysis on site in order to develop a design concept for the redesign of the main square in Göllersdorf. The course is offered as a supplement to UE 280.601 Design Studio - Reimagining rural downtowns. The course focuses on the interdisciplinary analysis and development of designs by students of spatial planning and architecture.

On Site Analyses: Interviews and local Stakeholder communication, visual analysis of the main square and surroundings, theses testing

The course is offered only in combination with UE 280.601 Design Studio - Reimagining rural downtowns.

Students of spatial planning can fulfil compulsory module 3 (Master's Project - Spatial Planning) with UE 280.601 + EX 280.A04.

Architecture students can use the excursion as elective courses.
