Subject of course

The central content of this course is the single-family house. This course builds on the results of the LVA "Das Einfamilienhaus" (https://tiss.tuwien.ac.at/course/courseDetails.xhtml?dswid=1368&dsrid=67&courseNr=280952&semester=2021W) and is supplemented by additional perspectives from architecture , spatial planning, sociology and practice (planning office and municipality/region).

The prelude consists of 3-4 blocks of content, each of which forms a lecture and an in-depth discussion.

 

  1. "The single-family house in spatial planning" (Barbara Steinbrunner, Lena Schartmüller, Isabel Stumfol)
  2. "OLD proven and NEW thought: Preservation, conversion and expansion of single-family houses" (Andrea Rieger-Jandl)
  3. "Qualities of the single-family house and its alternatives"  (Architektur)
  4. "Living in a single-family house and living in single-family house settlements (sociology)

Between May 23rd and 29th we will spend 4 days (3 nights) at the landuni Drosendorf in the Waldviertel (https://futurelab.tuwien.ac.at/research-center/center-laendlicher-raum/projekte-und-lehrveranstaltungen/ landuni-drosendorf) and work on local issues in workshops in the region.

One result of the previous LVA is an exhibition, the vernissage of which will take place in March. After consultation with the students, the documents developed in this course are available for further processing and as a basis.
