After successful completion of the course, students are able to create a 3D model based on GIS data sets. Students will learn principles in script- and parameter-based spatial modelling processes. In the exercise units, a special emphasis is placed on logical and spatial thinking in the script-based creation of 3D city models.
The 3D models and variants created serve as a visual basis for communication and decision-making in planning processes. In a next step, the designs are subjected to urban planning analyses (e.g. sun, wind, accessibility, uses, ...) according to jointly defined criteria.
Presentation documents are created from the processed design variants and analysis results.
