- understand the interplay between politics, policy and polity in spatial development,
- reflect on potentials and challenges of concrete policies of spatial developent,
- apply theories for the analyis of saptial development policies,
- critically reflect on their role(s) in the policy process.
This course concentrates on a theory-based and applied presentation and discussion of central terms of spatial development policies. First the terms politics, polity, policy, power, actors, institutions, governance and discourse are presented. Afer that three current topics of urban development policies will be presented and critically discussed: urban sprawl, EKZ and Zweit-Wohn-Sitze. The before discussed terms should help to get a better understanding of this topics.
