The municipality of Biedermannsdorf (population 3,155) is located in the district of Mödling, with Vösendorf as its neighboring municipality. In order to achieve the climate targets set by the EU and the state government, the municipality must and wants to take important steps towards renewable energies, energy efficiency and energy saving.
In preliminary discussions between TU Wien and municipal representatives, topics relating to spatial energy planning and the local development concept have already been discussed. Exciting topics include moderate municipal growth, densification in building land development areas and integrated transformation concepts for a former children's home area and the "Rohrhof". As part of the course, three events will take place on site (kick-off, interim and final presentation), and a joint publication will be produced afterwards. Thanks to the close cooperation between the TU and the municipality, students have the opportunity to train in a very practical way.
