After successful completion of the course, students are able to name the characteristics of regional planning practice in Austria and to apply them. By consulting various experts, students are enabled to discuss the instruments of regional planning, their strengths, weaknesses (and limitations) and potential fields of implementation as well as to work with practicable tools for initiation and action.
Exemplary discussion of regional planning (planning system, tools, legal basis, procedures) on the basis of a federal state (federal states change annually) – in the summer semester 2023, the federal state Upper Austria will be examined. For regions, see TUWEL.
On-site surveys and interviews, evaluation of documents and regional data, mapping, regional profiles, SWOT analysis, actor mapping, structural map, definition of regional fields of action
Note: Course appointments are scheduled from 11 am to 3 pm in TISS, but do not start before 11:30 am!
