After successful completion of the course, students are able to...
- understand technical definitions of traffic and to correctly interpret and apply them in the context of traffic planning and traffic effects.
- Basic traffic engineering knowledge, in particular those for estimating and calculating the performance and capacity of different types of traffic.
- to understand and plan to apply the characteristics and traffic functions and effects of transport networks in connection with urban planning and spatial planning requirements
- Understanding the functions and processes of public transport on the basis of key parameters and calculating the performance, as well as being able to apply the parameters in a planning manner.
- to Understand the basic concepts and logic of evaluation procedures and independently structure cost benefit analysis
The lecture provides the substantive basis for designing transport networks at the local level, as well as identifying, analyzing and assessing the traffic situation and traffic problems and finally suggesting improvements to the traffic situation and the traffic organization based on the traffic planning tools and methods presented, as follows specifically for settlements within the framework of the course 280.788 "spatial planning / urban design" (PR, project 1) and LV 280.... "spatial development planning" (PR, project 2).
