After successful completion of the course, students are able to... familiar with theories and concepts of land policy and their application in spatial planning (land use control, management of land values). Moreover, students get skilled in comparing the land policies in different countries with a view to improve their effectiveness as goal-oriented planners.
The seminar »Comparative Land Policy« examines theories of land policy and their application in spatial planning. By comparing land policies in different countries and discussing the international approach of socio-ecological land policy, the seminar examines strategies to control and redistribute private and common property (e.g., constitutional land policy, property, land value management, land reform).
