Subject of course

The course accompanies the aesthetic-pedagogical project 'Spielstadt Wien', premiering in Vienna with great success in the Nordbahn-Halle in the summer of 2019 (www.spielstadt-nordbahnhof.info). The project team invites people of all backgrounds to the LVA to deal with the subject of Spielstadt (children’s city) in a theoretical, practical and always interdisciplinary way; to work behind the scenes in the organisation and to actively participate in shaping Spielstadt 2020.

Procedure

  • April: The first block will invite external and internal experts to give impulses between art, city or architecture, pedagogy, philosophy and politics. Through these inputs, students are confronted with the breadth of the task field decide which project area they want to get involved.
  • Mai & June: Independent work on the project, integration into the team and involvement in work area(s) of their choice (e.g. development and design of a children city business, actions in public space to promote the project among children, etc.). The dates will be fixed  in the individual work areas. The course accompanies students throughout the semester and ends with the project realization in July.
  • July: The Students have to spend around 10 hours visiting/researching/ documenting/reflecting on their work within the Spielstadt 2020 (6.7.-18.7.2020, @F23) and thus contribute to the realization of the project.
