"Countryside: Future of the World" (Quote Rem Koolhaas)
18 spatial planners and a journalist made their way to Obergail a year ago. A lot has happened since then.In Obergail, 64 people live in 28 houses. That was the home base of the TU Wien team. From there, they collected stories that make it possible to experience Lesachtal. The result was the blog mehralsobergail.at.And there was much more. For example, the power of collecting, writing and presenting stories. Storytelling and spatial planning belong together. This happened a year ago when spatial planners made use of journalistic craftsmanship. The focus was on collecting and reflecting what was there. This year it's all about looking into the future. Writing a future story and drawing / designing images of the future in and for Lesachtal. For this Isabel Stumfol and Sibylla Zech get support from the design field. Laura Heym is an eco-social designer who specialises in research and participation design – with a focus on the future. Which methods can be used to think about the future, communicate the future and create the future? With her project "Hinterland" Laura Heym is a finalist of the Social Impact Award. "Hinterland" is an interactive audio guide for Fürstenberg in Brandenburg, in which stories, ideas and visions of the Fürstenberg people are told.
