Learning outcomes

After successful completion of the course, students are able to understand the effects of selected spatial development strategies on space and planning levels. They will also be able to comment, argue and critically reflect on spatial planning strategies.

Subject of course

As the climate crisis progresses, a conflict of spatial planning becomes increasingly apparent - the preservation of the environment vs. spatial growth. This was particularly widely discussed in the case of the third runway at Vienna International Airport, but this is only one example.
Within the framework of the concept module, infrastructure planning (national and international) is reflected upon and common positions are developed in order to better argue, comment on and reflect on the complexity of the development - from global to local.
