Subject of course

Block: 280.528 VO: Theory of Planning and Space AMORHOLOGICAL URBAN HISTORYBASEDONTYPOLOGYSTUDIES Urbanization’s is a reflection of culture, economics, politics and ideologies, however, when it takes shape, it conversely influences and actually becomes component of these elements themselves. Such interaction is the core interests of this lecture series. Urban form is always a battlefield of such interaction. A morphological history is both chronological and thematically organized with different lectures. Urban typologies, covering urban cells, spatial elements as well as the organizations composed of them, will reveal coherence and difference between cases, rather than only present each cases in details. In some situation, Western and Chinese urban examples will be paralleledly presented and complimented to each other, if necessary, to dig into their hidden connotations.
