This lecture aims to give especially foreign students a better understanding of the "Austrian Culture". Also students shall learn from each other about the culture and way of life in their different home countries. The way planners think and act is influenced by their socialisation and cultural habits - this will be examinated and reflected within the lecture.

The lecture will be given in English only.

Start of the lecture is on the 23rd of October.

The term culture will be discussed and elaborated as well as what the "Austrian Culture" might be - from the view of foreign students as well as of Austrian students. The historical context and development will be discussed also, furthermore typical situations of everyday life will be examinated and compared. Furthermore it will be elaborated in which way the cultural context does or may influence planners priorities and decisions. In addition, there will be a short field trip.

The lecture will be blocked and starts by the end of October

Presence, participation, homework and presentations will be the basis for the grading.
