Aim of course

We planners who are lobbyists of the space. We design the future. The question which, for whom or how this future is "better" is not discussed. On the contrary, the space is full of conflicts and the space requirements divers. Within the framework of the seminar, positions will be developed in order to better argue, comment on, and reflect the complexity of the development - globally to locally:

  • Students can critically reflect selected spatial development strategies;
  • The students are able to understand the impact of selected spatial development strategies on the space and on different levels
  • The students are able to comment, augment and reflect spatial planning strategies

Subject of course

Through collective discussions, aiming to reflect and interpret values in spatial planning form different, controversial points of view, the challenges for the spatial planning profession are examined and analysed. After this interdisciplinary and theoretical discourse based on practice examples, a set of values and visuals for selected spatial planning strategies are developed.
