Ziele der Lehrveranstaltung

Understanding the concept and the importance of ability and willingness to pay of private households and companies for energy and resource conserving measures, including their readiness to change their resource and energy-related behavior.

Inhalt der Lehrveranstaltung

Topics of the seminar:

-       Ability to pay and behavioral change

-       Willingness to pay for energy conserving measures

-       Probability of decisions on energy conservation / fuel switch

-       Effects of energy policies on households with budget, time, capacity constraints

-       Conclusions for energy policies

  • Rebound effects in different fields of energy consumption
  • Role and functions of energy policy instruments
  • Scale and scope for urban planning instruments

-       Political economy in (urban) energy policies

-       Sectoral studies (types and fields of resource and energy consumption)

-       Country studies (industrialized countries, developing countries)
