After successful completion of the course, students are able to...

• implement gis-related knowledge for assessment and evaluation of transport infrastructure projects
• to apply the presented methods of geodata processing and analysis in site and project evaluation
• adopt and implement the essential GIS-concepts that are presented

Based on the knowledge acquired in the VU "Spatial analysis with GIS", advanced GIS skills and techiques will be taught.

Content (inter alia):

• Model-Builder (advanced)
• Introduction into cost-distance-analysis
• GIS-based identification of infrastructure corridors
• Introduction into network-analysis
• Network based assesment and evaluation of planning options

Goal is to develop a multi-criteria project evaluation with help of spatial modeling and analysis

• Introductory, practice-oriented lectures
• Exercises (individual work)
• Discussion and participation in the plenary session
• Individual research
• Group and project work
• Presentation of results

This course is part of the Elective Module 4 "Standort- und Projektbewertung"
The kick-off for Elective Module 4 takes place on Wednesday, 02.10.2019 at 11:30 am. - ATTENDANCE IS COMPULSORY!

The first lecture and excercise takes place on Monday, 7th of October, from 2 to 6 pm at seminar room 3/4.
Attention: An indivudal laptop (Windows) is required for (active) participation!
In addition, the resources of the "EDV-Labor" can also be used to work on  exercises or group work!

Grading is made up of the following elements:

• Exercises in individual and group work during the semester
• Presence + personal involvement
• oral performance review + presentation of the results at the end of the semester

Knowledge of the skills and methods taught in the VU "280.142 Spatial analysis with GIS" is a requirement to be able to follow the course.
Basic and introductory methods will not be taught.
