Learning outcomes

After successful completion of the course, students are able to...

  • implement gis-related knowledge for assessment and evaluation of transport infrastructure projects
  • to apply the presented methods of geodata processing and analysis in site and project evaluation
  • adopt and implement the essential GIS-concepts that are presented

Subject of course

Based on the knowledge acquired in the VU "Spatial analysis with GIS", advanced GIS skills and techiques will be taught.

Content (inter alia):

  • Model-Builder (advanced)
  • Introduction into cost-distance-analysis
  • GIS-based identification of infrastructure corridors
  • Introduction into network-analysis
  • Network based assesment and evaluation of planning options

Goal is to develop a multi-criteria project evaluation with help of spatial modeling and analysis

The kick-off for Elective Module 4 takes place on Wednesday, 02.10.2019 at 11:30 am. - ATTENDANCE IS COMPULSORY!
Please also join the kick-off, if you are currently on the waiting list!
The first lecture and excercise takes place on Monday, 7th of October, from 2 to 6 pm at seminar room 3/4.
Attention: An indivudal laptop (Windows) is required for (active) participation!
In addition, the resources of the "EDV-Labor" can also be used to work on  exercises or group work!
