After successful completion of the course, students are able to identify and analyse the existing circumstances and challenges in alpine regions and to draft strategies for improvement in selected thematic areas.
The seminar addresses the current challenges facing alpine regions in an era of globalisation, EU enlargement and intensive use of EU Structural Fund programmes. Based on guided tours, lectures and kick-off talks by external practitioners, students will learn about and discuss the functional transformation of the alpine region, including tools and strategies for its future development and selected funding programmes.
