Aim of course

Aim of the course is convey knowledge on the techniques and instruments of regional planning.

Subject of course

The content of the course is to convey knowledge on the development of regional planning in Austria, its instruments as well as its basic framework, which is necessary to create such instruments. The lecture focuses mainly on formal planning instruments.

On the basis of examples (ÖREK, State development programmes, Regional development programmes, sectoral development programmes) the structure, content and effect of this instrument will be explained.

The lecture outlines also informal instruments of regional planning. Further information relates to instruments of cross border spatial planning, as well as concepts and plans on European levels.
