Main aim of the seminar is to get information and knowledge about the specific problems of spatial and environmental planning in various CEE-states. Related to a specific topic general questions will be tackled like:
How is the spatial development influenced by European Union Policies? And perhaps, what kind of assistance is needed from the side of the European Union?
What are the specific problems CEE-Countries are dealing with under the tough conditions of rapid changes?
Within the seminar specific and current problems regarding spatial-, environmental- and landscape planning in CEE-Country, especially of Austrian neighbouring countries, are discussed. The specific topic differs annually. The topic 2012 deals with:

The seminar will focus on various challenges and aspects like e.g. innovative approaches for steering spatial developments in urban agglomerations and recommendations for actions to meet the different needs in cee countries. Within the seminar the European perspective as well as example form selected CEE countries will be presented.
