Aim of course

The course deepens the understanding of principles in Graphic Design and further develops communication skills, concepts and theories that create successful architectural presentaions. Topics include a review of vector and raster graphic techniques for presentig images, scanning and converting, color-correction and cleanup, image composing for for page and computer screen, methods for design and elevation studies, creation of surrational, composed images, special effects on images, multimedia presentations and basic web concepts. The emphasis is on learning the logic of how image processing works from basic concepts to actual tools to use.

Subject of course

The course is mainly focused on Adobe Photoshop and Illustrator. Photoshop, at the time being the premiere imaging and production tool for those interested in multimedia, the web and print. Knowledge of Photoshop provides a fundamental base of computer concepts and techniques from which students can build upon. Illustrator on the other hand is a powerful drawing program that dovetails smoothly with many other applications. With a little imagination and vector drawing tools, you can create images for output to any size without loosing detail. You will learn underlying concepts that determin how this vector program "thinks".
