Today we see the Renaissance of loam construction. In many villages of Eastern Austria and Germany old loam hollows from which earlier the loam was digged are still found. The companies who depend on economic work fall back on ready products available today. The loam is delivered here drily and well ground in bags and can be processed with a free case mixer like cement. Modern construction loam contains various other fibrous materials, memory materials and source materials which control the distortion by the material humidity, as well as, as a thermo loam, insulating and heat-storing materials. However, it is exiting to be get to know the processing of loam in other parts of the world. The traditional loam architecture is more than 10,000 years old, and still today more than one third of the humanity lives in houses from loam. The construction methods correspond to the climatic conditions and have adapted themselves to the available building materials. Though the revival of loam construction method is called return to the nature, however, not in nostalgic transfiguration, but from examination into the advantages of the good custom. Today with modern investigation methods, e.g., of the composition of the ground material, the intuitive measures of experienced construction workers can be academically verified. Thus above all an improvement of the choice and dosage of additions to the loam has become possible. Return to the past is no alternative to the present. There is a consensus among "loam builders" to understand the modern loam construction as an innovative continuation of a proven tradition and to promote him also so again in traditional loam using areas: The production of natural loam building material is easy, the environment is not infected, energy is not wasted, a disposal does not result. Mucky earth is a high-class, distinct living building material, an earth with future.
