Properties

  • Semester hours: 1.0
  • Credits: 1.0
  • Type: VU Lecture and Exercise

Aim of course

Simulation competence regarding urban space-related models, discourse capability concerning conception and advanced development of "Digital Cities", experimental experience with selected simulation techniques and their implementation throughout the planning process.

Subject of course

Urban space-related simulation techniques issue meaningful help throughout planning processes. Within the framework of this course an overview of fields of application regarding urban space-related simulation techniques and the model production they are based on is to be furnished. Digital Cities, Urban-Space Labs and Urban Space-Related Content Management are to be discussed as key terms. Additionally, the experimental implementation of digital, analogue and hybrid urban space-related simulation techniques is to be encouraged by means of concrete examples of planning practice.

Additional information

The course is a component of the Regional Planning Module 10 "Information Technology and EDP-based Planning Methods" and of the Architecture Module "Building Survey" (251.150).
