Aim of course

Deepened understanding of methods to evaluate various projects of real estate, big events of culture and sports, and infrastructure projects in order to set up a rank order according to selected economic criteria related to single firms or broader units (such as sectors, clusters or the total economy within territories).

Subject of course

Deepened presentation and discussion of methods for the evaluation of projects within firms or broader units (sectors, clusters or the total economy within territories) including a critical review of results of their application in different circumstances; subsumtion of the methods within a hierarchy of evaluative perspectives (ranging from the management of single firms over representatives of sectors or clusters to decision makers of different political territories). Objects of real estate (location/plot of land/edifice for services, trade and industry), big events of culture and sports (festivals, expositions, competitions) and infrastructure projects (of technical, socio-economic and state-forming kind).

Additional information

The lecture is one of the five courses of the optional subject evaluation of locations and projects, with the total amount of 10 semester hours.
