After successful completion of the course, students are able to answer fundamental legal questions in the area of contract and liability law. They know how contracts are concluded, how to classify legal problems in contract performance and what the consequences of such disruptions are. The students can distinguish between classic contract types and know the specifics of IT contracts. The aim of the lecture is to make it easier for students to communicate with lawyers in their professional life and to enable them to independently identify legal problems in the area of contract and liability law in their practical work.
Introduction to private law; Introduction to contract law; Conclusion of contracts; Property law (especially acquisition of property); Defects in the contract; Performance disruptions; Liability law; classic contract types, IT contracts.
Lecture part: preparation of the material using PP foils and text; Exercise part: repetition and deepening of the material using case studies, open-ended and multiple-choice questions.
Written exam and participation in the exercise part.

1.) Completion of the exercise part is a mandatory requirement for taking the written exam.
2.) Only those students who are validly registered for this VU in TISS in the WS 2023/24 will be admitted to the exam!
