After successful completion of the course, students are able to...- conduct international research in a professional context- systematically evaluate, categorize and describe results- present them to the public on a website with high quality
Following the international conference CLAIMING*SPACES Feminist Perspectives in Architecture and Spatial Planning at the Vienna University of Technology in winter 2019, the creation of a website was started in summer 2020. This website serves to make visible the professional situation of women in architecture and spatial planning and to promote and network women's concerns. The structure of the website includes the categories pioneers, universities, professional careers, self-employment, feminist theories/practices and visibility. These categories are to be supplemented by international and relevant contributions that best present the problems as well as good-practice examples for improving the situation of women in architecture and planning. The aim is to research international institutions, networks, initiatives, events, exhibitions, research projects, audiovisual and print media reports, publications, portraits of women architects and courses etc., and to prepare them systematically and in a concise form, thus supplementing the existing website.
In the analog and digital meetings, the context of the work topic is discussed and the seminar leader delivers impulse lectures. Students acquire knowledge and discuss and reflect on it in groups to be formed. Short presentations on selected topics follow. A standard for the preparation of the text and image contributions is created. The already existing website will be analyzed with regard to optimizing content and presentation.
