After successful completion of the course, students are able to recognize concrete spatial requirements and production conditions on site and to conceptualize improvised but functionally and creatively demanding structural solutions and implement them in a team-oriented manner.
What can, what should our concrete artistic/architectural/design contribution be in the face of current socio-political challenges? The teaching and research project "DISPLACED" was launched in 2015 in order to develop practical, socially integrative and directly educationally relevant 1:1 contributions on site with asylum seekers through self-empowerment, energy, social commitment and multi-layered learning - with and from each other.Various workshops are already available on the OPENmarx site, existing materials can be processed or recycled, and the (socio-)spatial potential of this open-plan Statdlaboratory situation is to be recognised and utilised in the concrete context of the respective skills and interests of those involved. In this semester, the focus of the step-by-step design is on the conceptual and creative examination of precisely these "Co-Working-Spaces": the existing spatial conditions and possibilities are to be expanded to innovative and demand-oriented 1:1 Co-Working-Settings, (not yet) existing contacts to Co-Working interested parties are to be established, existing networks are to be activated and new Co-Working processes are to be initiated. The necessary spatial extensions and adaptations are to be implemented automatically with lowest-budget means and in the course of joint work processes. In addition, targeted activities and programme ideas that appear suitable for involving the neighbourhoods in a sustainable and long-term manner are to be used to create an open, socially integrative educational landscape and a lively urban anchor and meeting place again in this year's open-air season.
Research, improvisation exercises, technical and structural work in a team
