Learning outcomes

After successful completion of the course, students are able to creatively and independently develop a learning-specific project and design it specifically.
In the tradition of leaning by doing, a concrete project is implemented in the exercise. Through networked, transdisciplinary thinking and action, a variety of positive learning experiences, both individually and collectively, should be made possible. Cognitive, social and emotional learning are encouraged.
The open process design is intended to motivate people to engage with innovative learning and knowledge transfer strategies, to recognize and actively use specific potential (especially for younger audiences, but also across generations).

Subject of course

02_Grätzl-Labor # BiB-Lab / Innovationslabor für Bildungsräume in Bewegung

The aim is to develop ideas for the program orientation of the Grätzl-Labor in a small shopping center in the Per-Albin-Hansson-Siedlung and to take over the supervision once a week in the afternoon (12:00-17:00).
The Grätzl Lab is an open creative and retreat space, especially for pupils from the nearby secondary schools, who like to spend their lunch breaks and free periods here. It was set up and operated as an experimental space over the last three years as part of the BiB-Lab / Innovation Lab for Educational Spaces in Motion project funded by the Austrian Research Promotion Agency (FFG) (see www.bib-lab.at).
Now, after the end of the project, it has been possible to maintain the Grätzl-Lab as such an important “safe space” for young people via the association LÄB - Laboratory for Aesthetic Education.
As part of the course, regular opening hours (Mon-Fri, 12:00-17:00) are to be guaranteed by teams of two students. Reliable and continuous presence on site is absolutely necessary. The tasks include being the contact person for the young people, trying out different spatial settings with them, providing low-threshold (creative) offers and opening up new worlds and future prospects for them through “social learning in creative processes”.
The independent and self-reliant commitment on site (including the journey there and back) takes up the main part of the course time, the logging and reflection of the respective daily events can also take place during the attendance time.
