Learning outcomes

After successful completion of the course, students are able

to perceive and name artistic qualities and characteristics of a work, to independently discover and differentiate general and specific qualities of objects, forms and materials

They are able to develop creative solutions from their own observations and to transform them into creative three-dimensional works.

You learn to develop ideas in a process and to integrate them into design processes.

Self-criticism and the ability to perceive their own creative work has been sharpened.

An introductory workshop at the beginning of the exercise to learn to understand materials and tools

To analyze the experiences through material and form experiments in different techniques alone or in teams

Visits to relevant art exhibitions and artists' studios. Learning through observation and discussions on topics, techniques and content

of artistic activity.

Mode of examination

Immanent

Additional information

The aim of this artistic exploration is to find possibilities with malleable real material, to think about building, to engage in the play with material limitations, openings and spaces, and to define and make them perceptible with the tool of the hand.

the exercise begins with the introduction (see date below)

for this time they bring with them:

Look for at least one concrete object, in a transportable size, which in your opinion exemplifies the topic "toys" in a formally interesting way. Write down two or three reasons why this is so for you.  We will then talk about your choice and the reasons for it in the 1st meeting 09.03.2020, 10h and together we will think about possible uses of your "Analogue Play Things" for the exercise. If there is potential here, we will draw revised illustrations of the respective object to illustrate the first transformation steps.
