The course is organized around three intensive two-day workshops focused on computational modelling, design and construction. These workshops will introduce the students to the basics in NURBS and parametric CAD modelling using Rhino and Grasshopper, relevant plug-ins, the 3D Concrete Printing Technology (Bauminator) as well as other rapid prototyping methods that will be used during the course of the module. The aim of these workshops is to support the students with necessary knowledge and skills to advance their studio projects towards the design and full-scale construction of a screen wall.
The first workshop 'Computing Cobogó_1' will take place on 02.04 and 03.04 from 09:00 till 17:00. The students are asked to collect and bring relevant information about the Cobogó screen wall of their choice to carry out a detailed case study, as well as the material from the analogue workshop from 12-13.03. The second workshop 'Computing Cobogó_2' will take place on 08.05 and 09.05 from 09:00 till 16:30. The students are asked to bring all the material related to their individual projects. The third workshop ' Computing Cobogó_3' will take place on 05.06 and 06.06 from 09:00 till 17:00. This workshop will focus on the digital files prepared for digital production.
The discussions on the individual projects will start the week after the first workshop each Wednesday 14:00-18:00.
All workshops and discussions will take place in the modelling room on Erzherzog Johann Platz 1.
Only for students who are enrolled in the course "form and design" summer term 19.
The student has to be enrolled for at least one of the studies listed below
To attend this class the module 'Form and Design' has to be attended as well.
