After successful completion of the course, students are able to recognize and reflect on the importance of contemporary artistic strategies and methods for planning practice in the field of outdoor and green space design. On the basis of this knowledge process they are able to develop new and creative approaches for their own planning practice.
The course gives a survey of different artistic strategies and concrete contemporary projects pointing out the urban or rural (exterior) space and the involved life and society models in an exemplary way (for architectural design): the choice of subjects reaches from the directly applied field (such as designing of space or city furnishing) to socalled non-utility art projects in public areas and to relevant theoretical contributions and various subversive scopes of contemporary art.
Explanation of picture examples, discussion of best practice, independent research, development of a creative contribution to the project
