After successful completion of the course, students are able to recognize the conditions of a specific material and the ability to transfer them into the design of an object. The goal of the lecture exercise is to provide basic knowledge related to the relationships between material, function, form, and content in the development and production of objects.
The goal of the lecture exercise is to provide basic knowledge related to the relationships between material, function, form, and content in the development and production of objects. Students will engage practically and methodically with the research, conceptualization and creation of form studies within the form-finding process, and produce presentable 1:1 objects. These will be presented in a publicly accessible presentation as part of the collaboration with the Weltmuseum.
The Modelliersaal serves us as a research an workspace A basic research on the our semester topic forms the starting point. Initial ideas in the form of sketches are accompanied by material and manufacturing experiments. Exploring the shape conditions coming from the material, the function and the concept is an essential part of the shaping process.
We only accept students who participate in the Form*Design module.
Development Submission and presentation of a design project; fundamentally intrinsic examination nature with mandatory presentations throughout the design process; emphasis is placed on attendance in the modeling room for individual weekly meetings.
