After successful completion of the course, students are able to understand the design implications of additive and subtractive digital production methods, especially 3D printing techniques, CNC cutting and milling processes, laser cutting and the like.
Theory and experimental practice in the field of model and prototype construction under the following aspects: Suitable production techniques, design effects of the new production technology, modelling in the CAD system, programming of the computer-controlled machine in the CAM system, production of the model on a CNC machine of the institute. Mediation of the relevant architectural geometry.
Project work in the form of prototype production
Only for students who are enrolled in the course "Digital Design and Production".
!!! COVID-19: If, due to requirements of the federal government or the Vienna University of Technology, it is not possible to hold the course and the examination or the partial performances in presence, the online format will be used. By changing to the online format, the dates announced for the face-to-face course and examination (partial performances) may change. In the event of a change to the online format, the course will be held via zoom meetings and the examination mode will take the form of an oral final presentation.
Presentation of the project
To attend this class the module "Digital Design and Production" has to be attended as well.
