After successful completion of the course, students are able to be aware of and to reflect "Phänomene der Zweckäthetik". Students are able to transfer them in an art context and to use them for their own design works.

The lecture focuses on demonstrating various fields where the wish for beautiful design - is not basically claimed (such as in case of agricultural and industrial buildings or various cases of anonymous building site architecture). In these fields of economical constructing and building without a special intention for design there is plenty of room for various facets of socalled art-less creation (Neumeyer). On the one hand, the lecture focuses on the pure version of this art-less creation , on the other hand, the transposition of art-less creation into fields of contemporary (constructive) art is demonstrated, the importance as a source of inspiration and a generator of impulse for concrete architectural and artistic projects is scrutinized. Therefore, the topical issues of the course are the lack of art and its transformation into the wealth of art, the ways, mechanisms and different varieties of such a transposition, basic facts about purposive aesthetics in general, as well as the analysis of selected examples.
