After successful completion of the course, students are able to set up their own design process in which theoretical discussions and practical exercises are meaningfully linked. Another focus is on acquiring the ability to communicate design processes through the format of the exhibition.
An artistic or creative process is individual, complex and never generally right or wrong.
What is essential is conscious observation, a deep understanding of material and the courage to risk wrong decisions. Whether developed with a pencil on paper, a finger in the sand or on the computer: an idea rarely matures linearly. It builds, collapses, rolls in a new direction, needs to catch on, is discarded, or fleshed out.
In the central subject of the module, the individual steps of a development process are defined, coordinated and corrected. Various conceptual and formal design approaches are made tangible and accessible through regular exhibition and studio visits.
