After successful completion of the course, students are able to develop their own architectural position and to take into account the constructional interrogation in building design as an integral part of their architectural concept.

Architectural design, structural engineering project development in all scales. Spatial representation of the building structure. Elaboration of a technical concept, the basics of plan representation and the gross dimensioning of the building service technology.

The simultaneous elaboration of the aspects of architecture, statics and building construction within an architectural design from the typological conception to the constructive and structural detailisation.

Based on the development of innovative structures, constructional design and detailisation, a solution for a complex building task is elaborated. In addition to the structural and architectural design and taking into account the aspects of prefabrication and building feasibility, the importance lays in a coherent energy and building technology concept as well as a cost-conscious and resource-saving project.

PUBLIC HOUSE

Dynamic cities live on social pluralism. Beside the supply of green space and the housing and educational standards, the urban coexistence is mainly and consistently enriched by the process of the 'community building' in the neighborhood districts.

The "Meeting houses" once established in Vienna as places for collaborative democracy and run as community centers at district level, the buildings today no longer manage to reproduce the social reality in an adequat manner.

The diversity and the digital transformation require new forms of programming, of operations and new architectural and spatial concepts for the neighborhood community centers. New concepts for a Public House that are suitable for promoting the social and cultural exchange.

Discussion of the course content in project reviews, accompanying lectures. Independent development of a design task. Elaboration of plans - in all scales relevant to the design of building construction and the elaboration of a spatial model.

It is possible to discuss the projects with a structural engineer (Peter Resch or Martin Haferl) (no separate certificate). The meetings take place in Projektraum 7. From Tue 01.10. there will be registration lists placed in the secretary's office. Due to the large number of students only 1 appointment max. per group will be possible!

PETER Cornelius is available as building technician within the LVA 'technical building systems' - applications for this exercise in tiss at the LVA technical building systems.
