Module abstract
The basis of the module Project Management is the understanding of management by Gilbert Probst and Hans Ulrich (University of St. Gallen), which understands management as the design, steering and development of purpose- and goal-oriented socio-technical systems. With systemic thinking and systems engineering, the module teaches the general principles of systemic management. Based on this, essential competences of project management are taught and deepened in particular in the application areas of urban development, public and corporate infrastructure, valorization of architectural heritage, as well as residential and commercial buildings. Related fundamental legal issues (in particular public procurement, contract and liability law) are also discussed. Issues regarding Negotiation and Communications are also tought during the module.
