After successful completion of the course, students are able to understand and reflect on the interrelation between urban and rural transformation processes and aspects of climate change. Students are enabled to investigate and present their findings orally and written.
Debate on aspects of climate change and the respective effects on the urban and rural landscape. This includes:
- Understanding and explaining different transformation processes in urban as well as rural areas.
- Independent acquisition of theoretical concepts and texts for the understanding of climatic problems and the implementation of measures for climate change adaptation.
- Deepening of a self-selected topic and formulation of relevant questions
- Critical reflection on the role of spatial planners in dealing with urban and rural areas in the context of climate change

Large-scale and ecological effects of societal processes on the landscape and the direct and indirect connection with aspects of climate change are investigated.
