Learning outcomes

After successful completion of the course, students are able to bridge real estate and urban development.

The LVA is a joint LVA with students of architecture from the
LVA 260.695 Development Control with Projects and with students of
Spatial Planning from LVA 260.703 Development Control with Projects Spatial Planning. For technical reasons, it must be processed via LVA 260.695 Development Control with Projects (TUWEL, TISS).
We will take care that you have access to all information concerning the LVA
260.695 concerning (TUWEL, TISS etc.), but a grade for LVA
260.704 will be registered. Please visit German Site.

 

Students know and understand:
- real estate and urban development basics
- interdependencies between real estate and urban development

They know and understand basic theories, methods and tools to steer real estate and urban development and apply these things.

Students act conscious in diffrent development situations and roles (capability to act, behave and decide situation specific).

Subject of course

The unplannability of the complex urban and regional systems has been known, at least since the findings of chaos theory in the 1970s. Based on practical examples, the new methods and tools for steering urban development, which are based on systems theory and come from management sciences, are explained and applied. The focus is on special living issues (housing first, Wiener Hof, co-living and many more).

Teaching methods

The course uses the principles and methods of constructivist didactics.
