After successful completion of the course, students are able to...
...act in the very early phase of real estate projects - in the project development phase - in a situation-specific manner. This includes the following skills:
- Understanding the different tasks involved in project development and define project goals
- Analyzing, evaluating and consciously shaping the landscape of stakeholders (actors)
- Analyzing and evaluating the framework conditions of projects
- Developing project ideas
- Assessing and optimizing the technical, legal and economic feasibility of projects
- Understanding the interdependence of projects and urban development and generating positive effects
The development of projects is the responsibility of the client, although there are completely different clients and project development situations. E.g. private, state, and intermediary building contractors; the valorization of monuments and new buildings; Living, hospitality, mixed use and much more.
We try to pick up your experience in architectural design, in the sense of architectural design of a building, and to expand the concept of design, because the goals that are pursued with real estate and infrastructure projects are very diverse. After the course, as architects, you should be able to make a high-quality contribution to achieving the project development goals with your drafts and ideas and have skills that make it easier for you to switch to the client's side.
The constructivist didactics forms the basis of the course. Learning is understood as an active process of constructing a worldview.
As part of the exercise, you will gain experience relating to the main challenges in the context of project development. From interacting with people & other disciplines to developing and evaluating project ideas. The experiences serve as a basis for building on this to understand the theories, methods, processes and tools of project development together in the course of the lecture, which you will then apply in the course of the exercise.
