After successful completion of the course, students are able to understand the main issues, current challenges as well as instruments and methods of landscape and environmental planning.
They have a basic knowledge of the fundamental processes, institutions and legal bases of landscape planning in connection with spatial planning issues.
The focus is also on understanding and recognizing connections as well as interactions in spatial and content dimensions.
USP of the lecture: By inviting external lecturers, students are able to immerse themselves in practical planning discourse and gain diverse insights into possible professional practice.
In the lecture the students acquire knowledge about the theoretical basics of the space "landscape", further the relevant instruments, methods and processes of the planning practice are explained.
The implementation practice of landscape and environmental planning represents the essential content. The different levels of impact of landscape-related spatial planning are put into focus.
The contents are oriented in such a way that the practical needs for the work as spatial planners become comprehensible for the students.
The topics of the lecture in the winter semester 2023/2024 are thus oriented towards current discourses and issues:
Lecture mode in a lecture series format: A variety of landscape planners, spatial planners and ecologists from research and practice are invited to report directly from their daily work.
In addition, two units with a more interactive setting are offered
The lecture will primarily be held in attendance, there will be an online format on the selected dates
Written exam after the end of the lecture units, use of topic-specific terms, analysis and application questions, establishing connections
3 regular exams, 2 committee exams, first examination date 29th of January 2024
